About
MY WHY
As the educational leader for the county, the San Benito County Superintendent of Schools is critical to the success of our students and community. Here is why I hope to serve as your next County Superintendent.
Since I began my career at Hollister High School over 30 years ago, I have been committed to serving the students, families, and educators in San Benito County. My parents instilled in my brothers, sister, and me the importance of education. Education opens doors, lifts people out of their circumstances, creates hope, and builds a strong community. I believe in the power of education and that every student should be able to receive a high-quality education that prepares them to be a successful adult.
We face many challenges in education today and I am up to those challenges. I will work tirelessly to bring schools, families, and the community together to find solutions, always striving to increase academic success, prepare our students for future careers, ensure schools are safe places to learn and work, and promote fiscal responsibility.
During my career, I have brought in over $7.5 million in grants to support programs and services in schools throughout the county and developed the county’s first accredited Teacher Induction program. I have seen what we can do when we work together and know we can do more to benefit our students and educators. I invite you to join me on this journey to ensure success for ALL students!

Expanding communication efforts to strengthen the connection between the County Office of Education and the community.
I’ve prioritized transparency and engagement by expanding our communication efforts to better connect the County Office of Education with the families, educators, and community partners we serve.
